Two-time Juno Award nominated artist, producer and community organizer Alysha Brilla is a critically acclaimed Indo-Tanzanian Canadian multi-disciplinary artist. Alysha’s new music draws on the influences of her unique background; blending Indian & East African sounds with a contemporary aesthetic. A multi-racial child of the Indian diaspora, Alysha’s art aims to unite people through the Canadian cultural kaleidoscope and bring light to gender inequality issues in Canada and abroad. Her music features strong themes of cultural diversity, gender equality and inclusivity. Alysha was in town at the West End Cultural Centre promoting the release of her third album. Opening the show was local singer/songwriter Kelly Bado.
